Publié à l'occasion de l'exposition éponyme qui s'est tenue à la Royal Academy of Arts, Londres, du 23 février au 23 mai 2022 et à la National Gallery of Art, Washington, du 3 juillet au 10 octobre 2022. Le catalogue analyse la relation artistique et personnelle entre James McNeill Whistler et son modèle et partenaire Joanna Hiffernan, au cœur des Symphonies in White.
