Catalogue de l'exposition éponyme qui s'est déroulée au Musée national d'art moderne de Kyoto du 5 avril au 1er juin 1980, sur le thème des vêtements occidentaux romantiques datant de 1835 à 1895. Richement illustré, il analyse les silhouettes, matières et ornements caractéristiques de la mode romantique européenne. L’ouvrage montre comment ces formes vestimentaires ont captivé l’imaginaire japonais et nourri les échanges culturels entre l’Occident et le Japon à la fin du XIXᵉ siècle.
