Numéro spécial, paru à l'occasion de l'exposition éponyme qui s'est tenue au Grand Palais, Paris, du 24 mars 2026 au 26 juillet 2026. Consacré aux dernières années de Henri Matisse, ce numéro met en lumière l’invention des gouaches découpées, langage plastique libre et novateur. À travers des séries majeures comme Jazz ou les Nus bleus, il montre comment l’artiste renouvelle formes, couleurs et supports avec une vitalité exceptionnelle. Pensé comme une immersion dans l’atelier du maître, il révèle une œuvre tardive d’une grande maîtrise, où se conjuguent expérimentation, simplicité formelle et puissance expressive.
Special issue, published to mark the eponymous exhibition held at the Grand Palais, Paris, from 24 March 2026 to 26 July 2026. Dedicated to the final years of Henri Matisse, this issue highlights the invention of cut-out gouaches, a free and innovative visual language. Through major series such as Jazz and the Blue Nudes, it demonstrates how the artist revitalised forms, colours and media with exceptional vitality.
