This illustrated book traces the history of the House of Windsor from 1917 to the 1960s, through the lens of royal fashion and image. The author examines the strategic role played by the sartorial choices of the Crown’s leading female figures — Queen Mary, the Queen Mother and Elizabeth II — against a backdrop of political crises and two world wars.
