This book offers a richly illustrated overview of artistic creation in Vienna at the turn of the 20th century, a period marked by the Vienna Secession, Jugendstil and the Wiener Werkstätte. It brings together works spanning painting, the decorative arts, graphic design, architecture, photography and fashion. The authors highlight the cross-pollination between disciplines and the ideal of the ‘total work of art’ that characterised this creative effervescence. Particular attention is paid to the contribution of women to Viennese artistic life during this period.
